Madrid Hosts the 2024 Environmental Photography Award Exhibition
For the third consecutive year, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s Environmental Photography Award exhibition is on display in Madrid’s Parc del Retiro, offering visitors a compelling visual journey through nature’s beauty and fragility. Running until January 13, the exhibition showcases 36 striking images that depict humanity’s complex relationship with the environment—ranging from destruction to hope.

The initiative, led by the Foundation’s Spanish branch, aims to raise awareness about climate change, biodiversity loss, and resource depletion through powerful storytelling.
Carol Portabella, President of the Foundation’s Spanish branch, emphasized the exhibition’s role in inspiring the public to rethink their connection with biodiversity.
Partnering with SEK International University, a long-time supporter of the award, the exhibition fosters environmental awareness among future generations. Spanish photographer Jaime Rojo, winner of the ‘Into the Forest’ category, was among the distinguished guests at a private tour of the exhibition, underscoring the vital role of artistic expression in conservation efforts.
