ReOcean Fund Makes Its First Investment in Ocean Intelligence Leader NatureMetrics
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Monaco Asset Management have officially welcomed NatureMetrics as the first company in the ReOcean Fund’s portfolio.
A global leader in biodiversity data, NatureMetrics utilizes environmental DNA, artificial intelligence, and Earth observation technology to revolutionize biodiversity monitoring. By offering scalable solutions for nature reporting and impact assessment, the company aligns perfectly with ReOcean’s mission to advance ocean data and intelligence for sustainable economic growth.

With ocean health playing a crucial role in the global economy, ReOcean’s investment supports the urgent need for effective marine biodiversity monitoring.
NatureMetrics is revolutionising biodiversity data, by turning insights into actionable strategies that align economic growth with environmental and ocean resilience. This innovation drives value creation while setting a new benchmark for embedding ocean health into business decisions – a natural fit for the ReOcean Fund’s mission to transform the blue economy.
Olivier Wenden, Vice-Chairman and CEO of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
This milestone signals the start of the fund’s investment phase, targeting innovative companies in five key ocean-related sectors, including plastic pollution solutions, regenerative blue food, green shipping, marine restoration, and ocean data.
Currently halfway to its €100 million target, ReOcean will continue mobilizing capital throughout 2025, with backing from 19 investors, including the Monaco Government, to drive next-generation ocean innovations.
With a $1.5 trillion direct contribution to the global economy, ocean health is fundamental to the sustainable future of our planet. Yet, as ocean biodiversity declines, we are running out of time to ensure its protection. Monitoring ocean health effectively must no longer be a barrier to its preservation and the responsible use of marine resources.
Dimple Patel, CEO of NatureMetrics.
